Kid Astronaut Performing at Sun Valley Viaduct Night Market

La Molly is a proud Westwood based artist and DJ

Denver’s own Kid Astronaut stopped by to chat with SugaBear and La Molly for a conversation that went far beyond music. Blending his knowledge of hip-hop, R&B, soul, and a deeply introspective outlook, Kid Astronaut opened up about creativity, spirituality, vulnerability, and the journey of finding himself as both an artist and a person. He talked about his roots in Denver’s music scene to his evolution through projects like Air Dubai and Neon Wolf – a testament to how he constantly explores new dimensions of sound and self.

Describing himself as “an explorer of the inner and outer space,” Kid Astronaut talked about balancing humanity with spirituality in his music. Whether he’s experimenting with engineering and production techniques or stripping things down to just himself and a guitar, his goal remains the same: creating music that makes people feel something real. Throughout the interview, he reflected on the importance of staying childlike, embracing vulnerability, and not losing yourself in the pursuit of greatness.

The Denver artist also shared insight into where he sees the local music scene right now, shouting out the city’s growing community of unique artists, jam sessions, and open mic culture. While he’s already experienced major moments, from MTV placements to touring with bands, he explained that this current chapter feels more personal and fulfilling than ever. Now, performing solo as Kid Astronaut, he’s focused on creating intimate but powerful live experiences that leave audiences wondering, “How can one person do all that?”

The interview also gave listeners a first look at his new song, “A Thousand Times,” a heartfelt track about yearning for someone you can’t quite have. Honest, emotional, and deeply human, the song reflects the same openness that defines Kid Astronaut’s approach to music overall.

You can catch Kid Astronaut performing live at the Sun Valley Viaduct Night Market this Saturday, May 16, 2026, underneath the Colfax Viaduct near Empower Field. Don’t miss the chance to experience his genre-bending sound and cosmic energy live in person.
