Community Corner | Convivio Café

SugaBear and La Molly recently sat down with the team behind Convivio Café, the beloved Denver women and immigrant-owned coffee shop known for its Guatemalan-inspired coffee and deeply welcoming atmosphere, to talk about an exciting next chapter.

Convivio is officially expanding, with a second location set to open in February 2026 in Downtown Denver’s Alliance Center, directly across from Union Station.

During the interview, co-founders Vivi Lemus and Kristin Lacy shared how intentional this growth has been. From sourcing coffee that is both grown and roasted by Guatemalan farmers to creating a bilingual, community-centered gathering space, Convivio has always been about more than just a cup of coffee. The new LoDo location will carry that same spirit, offering their signature coffee program, thoughtfully sourced teas, and culturally rooted food that reflects Guatemalan traditions while highlighting local ingredients.

The Alliance Center felt like a natural fit for Convivio’s values, aligning with their commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and people-first hospitality. With its downtown location, Convivio is excited to welcome an even broader mix of locals, commuters, and visitors into what they lovingly describe as their version of cafecito culture-a space where everyone truly feels welcome.
