Community Corner: Grand Opening Weekend at the Center for the Healing Arts
It’s the official opening of the Center for the Healing Arts! This exciting milestone celebrates a 25,000 square foot expansion for Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (CPRD), a cultural cornerstone for dance and community in Denver.
The building's striking east-facing exterior features graphic solar panels that transcribe choreography from Mary Don't You Weep, part of Cleo Parker Robinson's masterwork Spiritual Suite. This piece was created for the first national celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday at Morehouse College on January 20, 1986.
"The design welcomes light into our new sacred space, reflecting the light carried by our ancestors, dancers, artists, and community," said Cleo Parker Robinson, Founder and Artistic Director. "We're capturing light and creativity for a new era of belonging in dance and healing arts."
