It’s that time of the year again! If you're a fan of local hip-hop and R&B, Battle for the Block is here, and THE DROP 104.7 is pulling up to showcase Colorado’s emerging talent!
Here's everything you need to know about this exciting event.
Battle for the Block is an annual competition that highlights and elevates local, independent artists in Denver. The event culminates in a high-energy performance at THE DROP 104.7's Juneteenth Music Festival, providing artists with a platform to reach a broader audience, and a chance to share the main stage with this year’s headliner: Grammy nominated, R&B artist signed with Top Dawg Entertainment SiR!
Past winners have included Triiip, Nelo, and Lane-O, all of whom have since gained significant recognition in the local music scene. Now a new wave of artists is coming for their turn.
Voting starts May 20, 2026 and ends June 3, 2026. Watch each performance and vote for the winner!

Artistry and Experience
RO$$AY is an Arkansas-born, Denver-based conscious hip-hop artist whose warm, melodic sound and reflective lyricism grew from his roots as a poet into a fully self-taught producer and performer. A fixture in Denver's underground scene, he has graced stages at the Underground Music Showcase in Denver, SXSW in Austin, and major local venues. He brings a rare blend of artistry and experience to everything he touches.

Trayce Chapman is a Denver-based hip hop artist that uses genre-bending hip-hop with clever wordplay and undeniable stage presence. Known for turning real-life experiences into bold, melodic anthems, he’s built a reputation as one of the city’s most exciting voices.

She Who Won’t Be Named
Sharp Penmanship and Soulful Delivery
She Who Won’t Be Named is a Memphis-born, Denver-based rapper known for her sharp penmanship and soulful delivery. Since arriving in Denver in 2016, she has built a loyal following through community-driven events like Beats Bodega and her Inner Circle showcase, and released her project Flower Child From Memphis. A Best of Denver award winner for Best Flow, she uses her platform to uplift and empower the local scene.
