Announcing the Battle for the Block 2025 Winner: Lane-O!

An extreme lover of music and all that it encompasses, Jason “SugaBear” Harris has been a fixture in the music/radio community for over 22 yrs

Congratulations to our Battle For The Block winner, Lane-O! The Louisiana native who moved to Aurora as a kid believes "art isn't crafted for consumers or audiences; it's an expression of personal joy and freedom." His last album, entitled Us, is an 11-track life journey that coincided with a pivotal life transition.

A few weeks ago, Lane-O gave our listeners some insight to whom he is and why he joined the competition in an interview with Mang-Yee. Lane-O hails from Louisiana but has been a long-time staple in the Denver music scene. He’s a family man with a passion for conscientious rap and finds peace and balance in both realms. Lane-O is also anticipating the arrival of his third child. "I grappled with the choice between my dreams of a music career and the corporate path. Upon the birth of my son, I summoned the courage to take a leap of faith," he said.

Experience Lane-O's honest & creative contribution to the music ethos by streaming his album on Spotify, and be sure to catch him live at The Juneteenth Music Festival, June 15th in Five Points, as he opens up for his home state colleague, Juvenile!
